The Scary Truth About Ron Paul

Ron Paul sounds like a great candidate... until you do your research. Here are a few known facts:

  • Ron Paul thinks global warming is overblown and would do nothing about the imminent climate crisis. He believes there are two sides of the argument, when in fact there are not.

  • Ron Paul does not believe in evolution. Thinks it is merely a 'theory' (apparently doesn't understand scientific theory) and does not accept it.

  • Ron Paul would like to see a robustly Christian America, and is against the separation of church and state, making him unconstitutional.

  • Ron Paul's free market policies would allow even the most powerful corporations to operate freely without regulation. (i.e. against network neutrality)

  • Ron Paul opposes gay marriage and abortion. Would pass decision to individual states, which is unsupportive of freedom and individual rights.

  • Ron Paul is against stem cell research and would not allow federal funding of it.

"While I certainly sympathize with those who understandably hope such research will lead to cures for terrible diseases, I object to forcing taxpayers who believe harvesting embryos is immoral to pay for it."
    - Ron Paul

  • Ron Paul would further privatize the health industry and do nothing about the 40 million citizens who can't afford health care.

You're pretty ignorant

-----Ron Paul thinks global warming is overblown and would do nothing about the imminent climate crisis. He believes there are two sides of the argument, when in fact there are not.-----

Who gives a shit about global warming. I'm a lot more worried about the 4000 young Americans dead in Iraq, not to mention the million Iraqis killed and four million turned into refugees.

Ron Paul is the only candidate that represents the people:

---Ron Paul does not believe in evolution. Thinks it is merely a 'theory' (apparently doesn't understand scientific theory) and does not accept it.----

Ron Paul believes in creator and a soul, and therefore cannot believe in the theory of evolution that holds that all life comes from random chance. This is irrelevant any way, he is running for president to protect Constitutional rights, not science teacher.

----Ron Paul would like to see a robustly Christian America, and is against the separation of church and state, making him unconstitutional. -----

He does not believe in a Christian government, he believes in a Christian nation and he holds that belief as a Christan individual. The founding fathers never intended the nation to be filled with men and women without faith, they wanted a nation that was religiously tolerant, as can be seen in this Newsweek interview, it is clear that he is:

http://www.newsweek.com/id/73850

(In this interview Paul comments that Romney should not be judged on his personal religious beliefs, only his adherence to the Constitution, and he also criticizes Huckabee for marketing himself as the Christian candidate).

---Ron Paul opposes gay marriage and abortion.----

Ron Paul opposes federal instrusion into the Constitutionally protected rights of the people of each State to decide for themselves whether to officially recognize same-sex marriage. He is also against the federal government banning gay marriage (he voted against a federal amendment to ban same-sex marriage), so it is obvious he is NOT against gay marriage. He is FOR the Constitution, and he is consistent his advocacy of it.

---Ron Paul is against stem cell research and would not allow federal funding of it.---

Ron Paul is against ALL federal science research. It is not authorized in the Constitution. He does not want to prevent State governments from funding stem cell research. He is a man of principle that always protects the Constitution.

---Ron Paul's free market policies would allow even the most powerful corporations to operate freely without regulation. (i.e. against network neutrality)---

There would still be regulations. In a free market a corporation cannot

1) use coercion
2) violence
3) fraud

These are the only regulations you need. Anything else is a violation of liberty and hurts American businesses and Americans.

---Ron Paul would further privatize the health industry and do nothing about the 40 million citizens who can't afford health care.----

Ron Paul would do plenty to help the uninsured, but he would not do it in his role as a representative of the people in government. He personally gave free medical service to his patients who couldn't afford it, and he would urge others to give charity, but he would NOT use the power of government coercion (taxation) to FORCE people to provide health care to those who need it. Coercion against innocent people can NEVER be justified.
